Besflores Nievera is the Brand Ambassador for Chicago-based Music Direct, a nationally recognized multichannel retailer of High Performance Audio hardware and software. Bes has been the company’s ‘voice’, fielding hundreds of calls and emails daily since 1995, providing advice and recommendations on virtually every product featured in the company’s catalogs and website (www.musicdirect.com). As a leading specialist in Analog hardware, Bes has been interviewed in major publications such as Stereophile and Jazz Times.
Bes is also the company’s Trade Show Coordinator, having successfully extended the brand’s reach at numerous trade shows and High-End Audio events throughout North America since 2000. Along with his work representing the Music Direct Brand at AXPONA, Bes participated at The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, T.H.E. Show and Montreal Image Et Son. In 2023, Bes was named to AXPONA’s Advisory Board, granting him new opportunities to help shape the show’s long and successful future.
Bes received his BFA in Arts & Media Management at Columbia College, and completed coursework in Theater at Oakton College and Northwestern University as well as Shakespeare First Folio under Bob Scoggin.
Bes’s creative output included several audio drama performances for Mind’s Ear Audio Productions. His audio production work included audio remastering work on Big Chicago Records’ Chicago Jazz Tour, and a live performance of an original audio drama by noted Chicago author Jay Bonansinga (‘The Walking Dead’)
Bes is also an on-air personality with WDCB-FM (90.9FM, and via www.wdcb.org) having joind the station’s broadcast team in 1998. During his tenure he produced several WDCB year-end Jazz Music Reviews, and represented the station as emcee at local events and concerts, welcoming Bill Frisell, Patricia Barber, Kurt Elling, among others.
Bes’s public persona extended into the web with his appearance on Weber Grill’s 14-part miniseries, ‘The Weber Experience’. Selected to wax poetic his love for the iconic grill brand, Bes’s appearance has won a new audience of food lovers to surround his already growing resume of work.
