Schaumburg, IL (April 26, 2018) - - AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) welcomed 8,134 attendees to a new location for the 2018 show at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center and Hotel, April 13-15, 2018. AXPONA offered music lovers, audiophiles, and seasoned audio enthusiasts three jam-packed days of incredible sound, technology, seminars, live music and the very latest products in the industry. Attendance was up 21% over 2017 with more than 1,000 additional attendees, making it the most successful show to date.
“The 2018 edition was the largest show to date offering audiophiles, manufacturers, dealers and all around music lovers a world-class, high-end audio event at a new and improved location featuring the best products, compelling seminars and live music nightly,” said Liz Miller, VP, Event Director, AXPONA. “Our goal is to provide a professional environment for the entire audio industry to meet, display products and discuss business each year and we’re thrilled to receive rave reviews from both exhibitors and attendees.”
New components of the 2018 show included the AXPONA Record Fair where vinyl collectors could browse and shop for vintage vinyl, CDs, SACDs and downloads in a centrally located pavilion; an expanded Exhibit Hall featuring an Ear Gear Expo; and the Master Class Theater for intimate presentations covering everything from record care to finding the best headphone.

In all, more than 400 manufacturers and retailers exhibited at AXPONA and boasted rave reviews.
“I’ve attended audio shows since the Chicago CES in 1989. AXPONA 2018 had the strongest opening day of any show that I’ve ever seen,” said Bill Leebans, Director of Marketing, PS Audio.
“Over the years AXPONA has grown to become one of the most important high-end audio events to attend in North America for manufacturers, dealers and consumers. The success of AXPONA is largely due to the hard work and dedication provided by all of the staff at JD Events. The Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, IL was a perfect venue for AXPONA 2018 and provided a refreshing and professional venue for all attendees to gather, present and discuss new product concepts and share excellent music,” said Peter Mackay, V.P. Global Sales & Marketing, MAGICO LLC
“AXPONA sets a new benchmark for a high-end audio show in North America. AXPONA offers a quality venue, great location, and a friendly crew. I look forward to doing the show again next year,” said Jack Wu, founder and president, Woo Audio.
“AXPONA was a major success this year. From strong show organization to a high degree of information in the entire phase leading up to the show, coupled with the great location, this year’s show had a nice flow and was run in a smooth and elegant way. We’ll be back and already pre-booked our room for the 2019 AXPONA,” said Rune Skov, Sales Director, Raidho Acoustics, ScansonicHD & Gamut Audio.
AXPONA attendees enjoyed an all-star line-up for its weekend live concert series including “An Evening With(Out) David Bowie” on Friday night featuring a presentation by Thomas Mulready and live music by Vanity Crash.
